The Midwest Notary Association was founded by a husband and wife Signing Agent team in West Central Iowa. After a year and a half as Signing Agents the team became increasingly active on the notary forums. They found that there was a definite void in information and acceptance of new notaries to the industry. They started posting helpful bits of information on a personal Signing Agent website. The response was good, to say the very least.

After a year and a half as Signing Agents the team became increasingly active on the notary forums. They found that there was a definite void in information and acceptance of new notaries to the industry. They started posting helpful bits of information on a personal Signing Agent website. The response was good, to say the very least.

Through repeated inquiries with the Iowa SOS office for information on where Iowa stands on e-notarization, they built a great relationship with the Iowa SOS. They have been corresponding with the Iowa SOS to help train Iowa Notaries, new and seasoned as well as prepare for the implementation of e-notarization to Iowa. It is at this point that they chose to create the Midwest Notary Association. Being in a tri-state area covering Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska it was decided to call it the Midwest Notary Association. As the site developed it was found that much of the information initially provided through the MWNA would benefit notaries and signing agents nationwide.

The goal is  to build an association that is not only a website of information, forum, Notary Locator, Business Directory and notary supplies but additionally a real association working toward making the industry better for Notaries and Signing Agents as well as providing member discounts through different suppliers for office supplies, computers, possibly health insurance.

‘An Association Working for You’

The MWNA now has notaries covering 50 states with a total membership of over 1500. Founder says, "We are thrilled to see our efforts over these past months recognized and accepted so well.It was only a few months ago (approx July of 2006) that we initiated the different levels of membership and started asking a fee for Premium and Elite Membership. We have spent 12 hour days since about April to put the website, forum, Notary Locator and all the information on the site. Once we saw that the information we were providing was quite useful and traffic to the site was good, we determined fees for different levels of membership. For us to continue to provide and update information as well as continue to promote and network with businesses for NSAs, we determined and set an annual fee for membership. We have built the entire website ourselves, with the help of a few added software purchases. Now that we feel we have built a good working site of information and recognition throughout the industry we are ready to ask for a little help from the members to keep doing what we are doing.

We are both full-time NSAs with a customer base of over 100. Our business has proven successful and now we wish to give back by sharing our information and our experiences with others."
